What a place! We are getting to know more of Barrie downtown & stumbled onto this gem. The service was great the atmosphere was welcoming. The view is the best. Recommend you come empty cause you will want to try it all. Keywords that come to mind would be authentic, family, comfort & flavourful. I think we just found another favourite to add to the list!!

Everything we had was so good we came back dinner time with the kids. Everything was delightful. Birria tacos fajitas , the horchata drink simply delicious. Priced well and eating with lake view was cherry on cake.

Love mexican food. The food here had so much flavor and the servers were attentive but not in an obnoxious way. Drinks and food were delicious and they even start you with some complimentary chips! Prices were not bad either. Will be back!

Enjoyed the food and atmosphere at The Mexican House - Downtown! My server was friendly and fast. The food was amazing, including their house-made taco chips, and my Campechano Tacos were so tender and tasty.

We ordered chimichanga which was supposed to be deep fried however when we raised a complaint , we were tried to be convinced that it is semi- deep fried burrito which in actual tasted and looked totally like a non crispy burrito. I have came to this place couple of times and i have already eaten this dishes, but this time the had a bad experience with the food while this item was not crispy as it usually tasted like and the server making us believe that it is a deep fried burrito while the tortilla wrap was just like the regular one.

This restaurant offers real traditional Mexican dishes in Barry. Traveling from cottage country to Toronto, we have lunch at this restaurant and it was the best decision we made! We started with Micheladas (beer with tomato juice and spices) and tried Ceviche Tropical (fish and shrimp), Menudo (trip stew), Barbacoa Tacos (lamb), and Chicken Burrito, and everything was amazing. As I lived briefly in Mexico, I can say the chef deserves 5 stars. We finished with Cafe de Olla (coffee with cinamon and other spices) and Churros. The coffee was the best, but the churros were not fresh, and I do not recommend it. The place is very nice, well located in front of the lake, and Eduardo, the server, walked the extra mile to give us one of the best culinary experiences of the summer.

I was visiting from the GTA, and by far this was the most authentic Mexican restaurant I ever had in a while. I visited two consecutive days and received great service and great food on both days. The price is also reasonable and the portions are very generous. They also have a wide variety of Mexican groceries.
